KUWAIT FOUNDATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCES (KFAS) 2024 FOR APPLIED, FUNDAMENTAL AND YOUNG RESEARCHER PROPOSALS

With all due respect, we would like to bring your attention to the above matter.

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) 2024 for Applied, Fundamental and Young Researcher Proposals is now Open for Application.

Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) invites competitive research proposals to be submitted starting on the 15th August to 15th November 2024, by midnight Kuwait time.

Following are the research grants provided by KFAS:

[a] Applied Research Grant – directed towards creating practical solutions to specific problems for specific end-users/stakeholders through innovation in practice, products, or procedures.

[b] Fundamental Research Grant – focusing on the advancement of knowledge, increasing understanding in fundamental principles, and is not directed towards immediate practical solutions or commercial objectives.

[c] Young Researcher Grant – aimed to promote and support students, working professionals and researchers (non-Ph.D. holders) under the age of 33 who are interested in leading applied or fundamental research projects to help foster their research careers.

All submitted proposals should aim to generate solutions and outcomes that advance a scientific field, promote innovative approaches or methodologies, and support the development of new technologies and policy development.

In addition to the below specified research domains, KFAS invites competitive proposals on general topics related to science, technology and innovation (STI), however priority will be given to the specified domains: Health, Educational Technology, Energy, Environment, Food & Water Security and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Please note that applications must be submitted through the KFAS Research Grant Management System at: https://grants.kfas.org.kw/ by 15th November 2024 (Friday).

It is recommended that researchers submit their application early on the call announcement to ensure that there is adequate time to complete the submission, should any documentation be missing.
